Spend a day at play unraveling and unfolding the plots of the books that have made Savannah so famous. We start with John Berendt's famous non-fiction publication Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, then on to highlights of the life of Flannery O' Conner. We lighten the mood with discussion of Mary Kay Andrews book's Savannah Blues and Savannah Breeze. Of course, we will have to mention Eugenia Price as well as one of our newest historical fiction writers William C. Harris, whose works include Delirium of the Brave and No Enemy But Time.
Day One
Arrive in Savannah and check in to your hotel
Meet and Greet at your hotel
In honor of "the book", Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, your tour today will focus on reliving the events that made this novel so famous. You'll be met by one of the ladies from Tales of the South. Our ladies at Tales of the South epitomize the very meaning of what being a Savannah lady is all about. You will immediately recognize her because she'll be the one sporting a big Southern Chapeau. As your guide weaves her magic, you'll learn of the events and locations of the actual story line. We will visit Bonaventure Cemetery, "the garden of good and evil" and be entertained by the Voodoo Priestess Maressee. This will be truly a day of enlightenment as we learn of the presence and practice of Voodoo in the Savannah Low Country
Tour includes an entrance to Mercer House, the site of the legendary murder.
Lunch is on your own in the Market or on River Street.
Our evening concludes with a private dinner in the heart of the historic district at the Metts-McNeal Mansion, the home of Dr. Jimmy Metts the county coroner from "the book". The home overlooks the beautiful Forsyth Park. We begin with Mint Juleps on the veranda, so that you can take in the spectacular views. If one has never experienced a mint julep, one has never fully experience the south, so let us introduce you to this unique experience. As we continue, dinner will be served, allowing you to savor a traditional southern meal with all the trimmings. You will be able to sample the favorite recipes of our famous Mrs. Wilkes like fried chicken, homemade biscuits and cornbread, collard greens, sweet potatoes, okra, macaroni and cheese and the list goes on and on-Lady and Sons can cater as well. This will truly be an afternoon to speak of for many years. We will also be introduced and entertained by Mandy Nichols from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
Day Two
We begin our morning highlighting the life and work of Flannery O' Connor. We'll visit the city home of this Savannah Georgia born native, and learn of her importance and place in literary history.
We'll make a visit to Shavers Books, "the Book Store" of Savannah. No tour, especially one about Savannah novelists, would be complete without a visit to Shavers. Shavers is truly a reader's paradise, a family owned, one of a kind neighborhood bookstore. While at Shavers we would like to introduce the group to our newest Authors, William C. Harris and Mary Kay Andrews.
Following our visit to Shavers, we have a group lunch planned at the renowned Pirates House, the inspirational site of Robert Lewis Stevenson's legendary and celebrated novel Treasure Island.
This afternoon we will delve into the life and works of Eugenia Price, a true first lady of fictional historical writers. This matriarch made Savannah and the Georgia coast come to life with great works like: Savannah, Before the Darkness Falls, Stranger in Savannah, and To See Your Face Again. Not to mention, her trilogy of St. Simons and countless other works for which is famous. Our tour includes a visit to the Isaiah Davenport House, the main residence of the primary characters, as well as other important book locations. Dinner is on your own tonight in one of the many eclectic restaurants in the historic district.
Day Three
Join us this morning for our newest and most exciting program, "The Savannah Breeze/Savannah Blues" Tour. This program is absolutely more fun than some people can handle. So hang on and prepare great laughs, and fabulous company! If you are not familiar with the author Mary Kay Andrews, please take a look at her website. http://www.marykayandrews.com. The tour centers around the two main characters of the book, BeBe Loudermilk and Weesie, two best friends that see their fare share of excitement. Whether a Mary Kay fan or not, I know you will be sure to have a great time seeing Savannah through the eyes of these fabulously quirky characters. If you enjoy southern comedy and books and films like The Sweet Potato Queens, and The Divine Secret of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, you should be in "Southern Diva Heaven". This is truly a tour to unleash your inner diva and girlfriend spirit. The tour by a Bebe/Weesie "wanna be" as we retrace the storyline of the books. We'll hit the major hot spots of the two books and spend time visiting the girls' favorite shops and "junkin" stores in town. We have unique surprises in store and this certainly will be something you will not want to miss. Oh, before we forget, if you are thinking you are of the male persuasion and may not fit in, FORGET IT! WE DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE YOU HERE. YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF HAVING MORE FUN THAN THE LADIES!

Following lunch we will take time to rest and relax back at the hotel. We depart this evening for Tybee Island, the main back drop behind the very fun Savannah Breeze novel.
Depart for Tybee and set your clocks and watches to Tybee Island Time! Forget your troubles and get ready to party where the "elite party in their bare feet!" Meet and Greet the gals from Tales of the South. A licensed guide will take you on an historic tour of Tybee Island, highlighting the Tybee Island Lighthouse, the Tybee Island Museum, Ft. Pulaski and the history of this eclectic island from James Edward Oglethorpe to Mary Kay and Savannah Breeze. We will take time to visit Mary Kay's personal, one of a kind Junkin paradise, "Seaside Sisters", which recently opened this year. Next, we're off to see the inspiration of Mary Kay's "Breeze Hotel" a major commotion in the book. We take time to tour the peculiar and one of a kind Atlantis Inn while enjoying a cocktail reception rooftop. Following hors'd oeuvres and drinks, we depart for our main course a low country boil, in a historic Tybee raised cottage from 1918. This will truly be an evening to remember as we enjoy the warmth and hospitality of our new Tybee friends.
Tour includes trolley transportation, boas for each participant in a fabulously bright color, mimosas to set the mood, hors d' oeuvres and dinner.

Morning brunch or breakfast.
